Class standing: Senior
Why are you taking this class?
I've interacted with many computer programs that were obviously written by a developer that had no idea what his intended audience was, and I think HCI is a very important part of successful programming.
What experience do you bring to this class?
I'm a returning student, and spent several years out in the 'real world' before coming back. I've got an entirely different perspective on the whole student thing, some good, some bad.
What do you expect to be doing in 10 years?
I plan to be a lead designer on a programming team.
What do you think will be the next biggest technological advancement in computer science?
I think the next advancements will be focused on different types of inputs, be it more voice oriented, movement capture, etc.
If you could travel back in time, who would you like to meet and why?
I'd like to meet Mahatma Gandhi because of how he was able to peacefully protest and encourage so many others to do the same.
Describe your favorite shoes and why they are your favorite.
My favorite shoes will always be my Senior Boots. They hold a lot of meaning and memories for me, and even though I won't ever wear them again they'll always be special to me.
If you could be fluent in any foreign language that you're not already fluent in, which one would it be and why?
I've always wanted to learn Russian, I absolutely love the way it sounds. The accents that go along with it are also amazing.
Give some interesting fact about yourself.
I spent 10 years in retail management, so I'm now working on starting a second career.
